Is there an existing issue for the same bug?

Describe the bug and reproduction steps

If the upload-files endpoint fails, the user doesn't get any kind of feedback.

This happens currently in SaaS (big zips end up with a 502 error) but could hypothetically happen in any env. Easiest way to repro is probably to just hard-code a 500 error in the upload-files endpoint.
