Describe the problem to be solved

Screenshot here:
image

In this screenshot, singandplay@tube.vencabot.com is counted as 3 followers, as is dapperdonz@tube.vencabot.com. This is because they're following three of my account's channels. These should count as 2 followers for my account, but it is currently being counted as 6. Right now, my account shows that I have 42 followers, but I'm actually only being followed by 32 different accounts.

Describe the solution you would like

Right now, a single activitypub account can count as a maximum of n + 1 followers for a single PeerTube account, where 'n' is the number of channels that account has and the +1 is from also directly following the account, itself. Instead of adding all of these follows together for the account's overall followers count, the total should only include each follower account once.

The UI should show, on the line below each follower's activitypub address, ALL of the channels being followed. It should show:
singandplay@tube.vencabot.com
is following content.vencabot, live.vencabot, vod.vencabot, and all your channels

Instead of:
singandplay@tube.vencabot.com
is following content.vencabot

singandplay@tube.vencabot.com
is following live.vencabot

singandplay@tube.vencabot.com
is following vod.vencabot

singandplay@tube.vencabot.com
is following all your channels

This is not a huge problem but it is confusing and counter-intuitive. As a content creator, when I see my follower count go up, it's very exciting -- and then it's disappointing to see that all 4 new followers are actually just 1 account.

Thank you for continuing to polish this highly usable and user-friendly piece of software! Good luck with all of your endeavors; I can't imagine how much work it must be!

Hi,

An UI improvement could group followers subscriptions (follower1@example.com is following your channel channel_1, channel_2 and channel_3)

With 2 counters displayed: Total follows (the current counter) and a Total unique followers (the counter you'd like)

This is definitely an option. Maybe separate counts for:

Follows / Subscriptions

and

Followers / Subscribers

One user can't be more than one 'Follower,' but they can give you several different 'Follows' (if you have enough channels).
