<p><strong>Article I: Name of Official Club Organization</strong></p>
<p>The official name of the organization shall be Chinese Student & Scholars Association at Stevens Institute of Technology. We will refer to SIT CSSA or CSSA as seen applied within this official document.</p>
<p><strong>Article II: Mission Statement</strong></p>
<p>Section 1: The Chinese Students and Scholars Association shall be an organization that provides opportunities for all the students and scholars of the Stevens Institute of Technology and the general public to explore the Chinese cultures through building friendships with the Chinese students and scholars.<br>
Section 2: The CSSA shall exist for the following purposes:</p>
<p>a. To strengthen contact and to promote friendship among its members;<br>
b. To help the Chinese students and scholars with their living and academic adjustments;<br>
c. To arrange events that promote cultural diversity in the Stevens community through promoting the Chinese culture.</p>
<p><strong>Article III: Membership</strong></p>
<p>Section 1: Membership is open to all students and scholars of the Stevens Institute of Technology without regard to race, religion, color, sex, national origin, disability, age, veteran status, creed, marital status, public assistance status, or sexual orientation.<br>
Section 2: All the members have the equal right to vote.<br>
Section 3: One will become a CSSA member after registration with the Association.<br>
Section 4: All members are responsible for understanding the mission and principles of the CSSA. Members are responsible with recruiting and promoting the membership process.</p>
<p><strong>Article IV: The Executive Board</strong><br>
Section 1: The Executive Board shall consist of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and other officers as needed.<br>
Section 2: All the officer candidates shall have served in the committee for at least one year. The president shall be elected during the annual membership meeting and shall serve for a period of one year. The President may appoint officers to fill in vacant positions.<br>
Section 3: All the officers in Executive Board shall be subject for removal from his/her duties if he/she does not fulfill his/her responsibilities as outlined in the By-Laws, Article II Duties of the Executive Board. The officer subject to removal is removed from duty after absolute majority (100%) vote from the other members of Executive Board. A new officer will be appointed by the Executive Board.</p>
<p><strong>Article V: The Committee</strong><br>
Section 1: At least ten committee members shall be elected from all the members in the annual membership meeting.<br>
Section 2: If a committee member leaves CSSA due to graduation or any other reasons, he/she shall recommend a candidate for his/her position to the committee.</p>
<p><strong>Constitutional By-Laws</strong><br>
<strong>Article I: Duties of the Committee</strong><br>
Section 1: The Committee shall exist for the following purposes:<br>
Draft and amend the Constitution;<br>
Vote to make decisions when the Executive Board cannot reach consensus;<br>
Shall be responsible for the justice of the voting process in the annual meeting;<br>
Help with the Executive Board on organizing all the cultural events and activities.</p>
<p><strong>Article II: Duties of the Executive Board</strong></p>
<p>Section 1: The Executive Board shall be responsible for ensuring all CSSA activities follow the policies, procedures and regulations of Stevens Institute of Technology, and other federal/city laws.<br>
Section 2: Duties of the officers:<br>
President:<br>
Ensure the club is registered in the Student Life Office;<br>
Responsible for the overall club management;<br>
Responsible for ensuring that the Club Program Form is completed for each event;<br>
Liaison between the organization and the Student Life Office;<br>
Schedule the annual meeting and the executive board meetings in each semester;<br>
Delegate responsibilities to club members;<br>
Arrange for the elections and transitions.<br>
Vice President:<br>
Assume all the responsibility of the President in her/his absence;<br>
Perform all the duties assigned to him/her by the President.<br>
Treasurer:<br>
Maintain all the financial records for clubs;<br>
Perform all the duties assigned to him/her by the President.<br>
Secretary:<br>
Be responsible for all the correspondence and event records for CSSA;<br>
Perform all the duties assigned to him/her by the President.<br>

<p><strong>Article II: Meetings</strong></p>
<p>Section 1: An annual membership meeting shall be held in the Spring Semester each year to generate the new President. A special membership meeting may be called by the President to serve any special purpose.
<br>
Section 2: An Executive Board meeting shall be held at least once each semester during the academic year.
<br></p>
<p><strong>Article IV: Financial Matters</strong></p>
<p>Section 1: The Association is a non-profit organization. It shall not provide monetary gain, incidentally or otherwise to its directors, membership. This does not restrict the payments of wages, salaries or incentives by the Association for services rendered.
</p><p><strong>Article V: Amendments</strong></p>
<p>Section 1: Amendments to the Constitution may be proposed by any member of the Association. Such proposals shall be submitted in writing to the Committee at least two months prior to the annual membership meeting at which the proposed amendment is to be voted. The Committee shall announce the amendment proposal to all membership at least one month prior to the membership meeting. Amendments shall be approved by a two-thirds majority vote of the membership present.
