The colorcet names that are in this repo are really difficult to remember. The much shorter ones that correspond to the gallery https://colorcet.com/gallery.html would be nice to have such that one could do ColorSchemes.cet_L2. There are also a few that just have fun names, like cet_gouldian. These are much easier to remember and work with than rainbow_bgyrm_35_85_c71_n256

I suppose you could add alternative names to the ‘notes’ fields of schemes. Renaming existing schemes or duplicating current schemes under new names wouldn’t be ideal though.
Perhaps some kind of ‘alias’ would be an idea?
In general, the main problem with lazily-created metacollections like this one is the cluttered global namespace. Some scheme collections fortunately have good UX for this purpose (eg Crameri), others (eg ColorCET) don’t.
