How can I update s3 client using aws sdk v3 in javascript?

Hello,
After creating a new s3 client with some parameters, how can I update it?

In AWS SDK V2 we could use s3.config.update which:

Updates the current configuration object with new options.

For example in AWS SDK v2:

const AWS = require('aws-sdk');
const params = {
    accessKeyId: 'something'
    secretAccessKey: 'something'
}; 
const s3 = new AWS.S3(params);
...
// in the meantime we get update about a configuration detail, for example the region of a bucket
...
const new_param = {
   region: 'something'
};
s3.config.update(new_param);

I know that we don't have AWS.config.update according to this, but if I pass the client to another function I want the ability to edit it, what the AWS SDK V3 solution for this case? (in the function I have the client that was created without the parameters...).

I'm running "@aws-sdk/client-s3": "^3.637.0". In this version region is a [AsyncFunction: runtimeConfigRegion]. I have a need to update the region of the client to fetch resources from those other regions and I have set the region in the original S3Client as shown:

const s3 = new S3Client({
    region: 'ca-central-1',
    credentials: fromIni({
          profile: hadesConfigObj.profile,
          filepath: "~/.aws/credentials",
          configFilepath: "~/.aws/config",
    })
});

... though I can certainly change it and verify that it is set using your suggested method:

s3.config.region = 'us-east-1';
console.log('Region is: ' + s3.config.region)

When I finally call on s3.send to execute the command, I get an exception that originates on that line whereby it is expecting this value config.region to be a function, at least this is my interpretation:

Any thoughts on why this is happening? I can work around the issue by creating a new S3Client and initialize the region to what I need it to be for a specific call but it seems like overkill. Is there a way to update the region that does not result in the above exception?
