raspi died yesterday because of a bad os update (no more raspi updates for me!:) - so had to rebuild from scratch. ended up being nice though - now have at same time

hi merlyn - @drforbin - because of the 'fresh install' remembered some questions around decwar tops10 disk image - know you told me some of this already, but can't remember clearly - my bad:(

• the opr account is [1,2]? does it have a password? do get in 'for free' as opr on the bootup console job, but wondering if could be useful to be able to use other ways, later?
• any other system accounts worth knowing and using?
• and here's a note about [1,27] from the docs - am going to prep an update for merge to main branch in next few days - note, if it's not already there, create p,pn [1,27] using react, then copy DECWAR.EXE, DECWAR.GRP, DECWAR.HLP, DECWAR.NWS to its home folder to 'deploy/install' it. [1,27] is where decwar was deployed for compuserve. for utexas it was logical device name 'gam:', assigned to [5,30].

alright - new developments here!:) trying to build on rcornwell's scripts that do clean install from tape -
one nice things is that the scripts explicitly create all the accounts!!!

if end up getting a 'scripted decwar machine' going - we're definitely good to go
only q will be whether to script for the old utexas style or the later compuserve style - or both

ahha - this topic might be interest for rich as well - just so it's on your radar rich - @rcornwell
decwar had kinda a 'service account' - and it was a bit different between utexas and compuserve -
will start getting a better feel for this whole topic in this second iteration 'version 2 scripts' starting today:) cheers, noah
