hi rich - @rcornwell - maybe this quick note above helps make the chatter about 7094 'make some sense' - am also working on simplex, in addition to matrix inversion - these two were 'cash cows' for ibm in the fifties and sixties:) |

fun example to help the 'math stuff' make more sense - got the code in docs/inverse going and it was a big help working on this as well as decwar itself - learning new things all over the place! anyhow - this code is from an ibm - ibm and backus did fortran for this type of thing, and 7090/7094 was 'a standard' - seems inevitable this fortran iv code should 'live on' with linux, pdp10, 7090/7094:) one thing we can say is 'thirty six bits' - and in a sense was pdp6/10 an effort to challenge big blue 'directly' in this regard?
