Description

On Windows 11 and fedora 40 and 41, with the App open, it causes CPU consumption between 4.2% and 7% and CPU fan noise. When I close the app, the high CPU consumption problem persists and the app continues to run in the background. As the CPU gets hot, it increases the fan speed and I get very intense fan noise. I have to close it from the Task Manager. In Windows, I can right click --> close the Ente Auth task next to the notifications at the bottom right and it runs in the background, I can see it running in the task manager, but this doesn't always happen.

I have found this on Windows in V4.1.5 too. Here is ente compared to another well known application. Because it crashes on exit in Windows, the system does clean up when the app is closed. I haven't tested it on Mint yet.

Same on W10 22H2 19045.5198.
Ente 4.1.5 and previous one.
Constant 25-30% cpu usage when open.

If you forget to turn Auth on, CPU utilization goes up and up, the chassis starts making weird turbo fan noises and you don't know what's going on. When you remember that Auth is turned on, you realize why.

Hi Universish,

KDE Neon is an Ubuntu 24.04 derivative. <neon.kde.org>

Thanks
