To avoid the frustrations and problems associated with a limited inventory for artifacts and creatures (not enough room to pick up an artifact on the land or on the ocean (the artifact vanish on the ocean in this case), or to capture all artifacts of a defeated hero, or to avoid having an inventory filled with the spell scrolls of a defeated hero when the hero already knows the spells contained in these spell scrolls, or to avoid having a secondary hero dedicated to serve as a "storage" for artifacts and creatures (which I consider not to be a very strategic action but as boring micro-management)), etc., an extended inventory is available for artifacts and creatures.
There will be two buttons available in the Hero/Captain Screen to access the extended inventories (one for the artifacts, and one for the creatures).
Extended inventories are "infinite", there is no maximum number for content (in fact, there are, depending on the number of artifacts and creatures in the game).
The "BAG" is the current name for the extended inventory for artifacts.
With the Bag, once the Hero's Inventory is full, the others artifacts are automatically redirected to the Bag.
On the adventure map, the hero can freely move the artifacts between the Inventory and the Bag.
Combat related artifacts (Attack, Defense, Spell Power, Knowledge, Spell Scrolls with combat spells, Morale, Luck, etc.) are only active when equipped in the standard inventory.
Adventure related artifacts are always active even when they are in the extended inventory.
This is to avoid micromanagement of artifacts before the start of the turn (replace a combat artifact with an adventure artifact before ending the turn, and vice versa at the start of the turn before a combat), and also between two heroes during meetings (transfer adventure artifacts (e.g. resource generator) to a hero dedicated to be a storage hero).
Cursed artifacts are also always active, even when they are in the extended inventory.
When the hero acquires an artifact related to adventure or a cursed artifact, the artifact is automatically placed in the extended inventory (to avoid micro-management for the player, and also so that the AI heroes benefit from the bonuses of the artifacts related to combat in a simple way).
When there are multiple copies of the same artifact in the extended inventory, they are grouped in the same slot with a number in the lower right corner that indicates the quantity of artifacts in the slot.
Screens are for explanation only, they are still work in progress.
Hero screen with the "no labeled" buttons to access the extended inventories for artifacts and creatures, and exits the screen:
These buttons will be graphic buttons (for reduced space occupation and to avoid the various translations and problems that go with them).
Hero screen, extended inventory for artifacts:
The "no labeled" button allows to access the hero screen, extended inventory for creatures.
This button will be a graphic button.
The right arrow and left arrow buttons at the bottom right of the screen can be used to navigate the extended inventory if it contains more different artifacts than can be displayed on a single page.
These buttons are only displayed when this is the case.

Creatures in the extended inventory do not affect the Morale of the hero's army during combat.
Creatures in the extended inventory affect the hero's movement speed on the adventure map (the speed of the slowest creature is taken into account).
Creatures in the extended inventory are taken into account for the hero's army strength needed for wandering troops to join the hero with Diplomacy (to avoid micro-management and/or reduce "cheating").
When a hero flees during a combat, all creatures in the extended inventory disappear, so the creatures are lost.
When a hero surrenders during a combat, he has to pay for all creatures in the extended inventory, the creatures are conserved.
When a hero wins a combat against a hero who has creatures in his extended inventory, all creatures in the extended inventory disappear, so the creatures are lost.
This is an option:
"Game: Hero and Captain have extended inventories for artifacts and creatures"
This option can also be split into two options to give the player more flexibility:
"Game: Hero and Captain have extended inventory for artifacts"
"Game: Hero and Captain have extended inventory for creatures"
Note: all of this could eventually change. :)
