If you try to select today date (29-Feb-2016) you will get: (01-Mar-2016)

Example: SELECT sysdate from DUAL:
[ { SYSTIMESTAMP: Tue Mar 01 2016 21:48:04 GMT+0100 (CET) } ]

I am experiencing the same issue with handling leap day dates.
