On the “actually use JS for testing JS” front, @mixologic and @dawehner have completed the testbot portion of the changes, and are now blocked on core changes at https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/2926633. @alexpott has offered to review, and review was requested from @lendude as well. Next steps will be to actually use Nightwatch to write some functional JS tests, @webchick has offered to help with docs for this.
@mrjmd is working on a set of React components which may track closely with https://github.com/jsdrupal/drupal-react-components. Next step is for he and @drpal to get together (once @drpal is feeling better :) to see if it makes sense to combine forces and/or otherwise collaborate.
In terms of RTBC and/or “near” RTBC issues, @webchick is offering to take https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/2921367 to the core committer call on Thursday, @justafish is offering to address @lauriii’s feedback at https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/77245, and @lauriii says https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/736066 is on his list, aiming for tomorrow or Wednesday.
