Sound does not work at all and there doesn't seem to be sound options I can fix it with.

The sound driver is pretty simple and just pick the first audio device found. Do you have a setup with multiple audio devices? like a controller that includes speakers?

On which OS are you?

I am on kubuntu linux 24.04 and yes I do have multiple audio devices
