Do you know if there is a difference between "Server 2022 Datacenter" trial/evaluation ISO and lets say what one would download with a Microsoft subscription account?
Looking at the KMS38 documentation, it should work with Server 2022.
I'm going to test with Microsoft trial/evaluation ISO.

Those evaluation installation needs to be converted to the full version first before activation. You can do that with the change edition option in the MAS extras section.

MVS/VLSC (subscription account downloads) server downloads come with the full version by default and you can activate them directly.

What happens to CALs (user and devices)? Let's say we need them, we buy them. will they work with a server activated with this activation script without any issues?

@teknixstuff Does your comment essentially activate CALs without having to provide your own license? Of course for testing purposes, but this is the exact use case I need. I'm definitely not buying one-time use CALs for educational, testing, and training purposes.

Is there a way to activate Windows Server terminal services with MAS?
(Default Windows Server accepts 2 remote desktop sessions, until terminal services is activated)

Wouldn't be easier to extend the 120 day grace period server-wide rather than targeting the Windows Server Remote Desktop Service licensing?

You'd also get 2 RD sessions, if that's accurate but I haven't checked this.

Install the RDP Session Host and RDP Licencing Host roles, then go to the licencing manager, right-click > Activate, fill in junk whenever it asks for any company info, then choose Select Plus License, use the key 1234567, choose the latest product version available, Per Device type, and qty 9999. After that, run gpedit.msc, and go to Computer Config > Admin Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Session Host > Licensing, open Set the remote desktop licensing mode, enable it, and choose per-device, then open Use the specified licensing servers, enable it, and use localhost. Reboot, and Remote Desktop is now fully activated.

This was what I was wondering. I had replied on another comment asking if this method actually works and no payment is required to use this research/educational method of activating the licenses. Is this the case or am I misunderstanding how this works? Specifically I am needing to test Client Access ability from multiple local network clients which usually needs multiple CALs.
