Tempura

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten

Directions

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together
  2. Add in wet ingredients and stir until smooth.
  3. Use the batter to coat about 4 cups vegetables or 1 lb meat.
  4. Deep fry in hot peanut oil until golden brown on the outside and cooked through.
