The -L option with GFortran on MSYS2/MINGW64 and SDL2

Has someone idea why building a fortran-sdl2 (and fortran-sdl2_gfx) app with this command

gfortran -march=native -Wall -std=f2018 -O3 -fmax-errors=1 -I ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/modules -I ../../sdl2-fortran/modules -J ../../modules ../../basic-modules/{{kind,math}_consts,nicelabels}.f90 ../SDL2_app.f90 star_walk_2d_gfx.f90 -o star_walk_2d_gfx-static.out ../../sdl2-fortran/lib/libsdl2-fortran.a ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/lib/libsdl2_gfx-fortran.a -static -lmingw32 -lSDL2_gfx -lSDL2main -lSDL2 -lws2_32 -ldinput8 -ldxguid -ldxerr8 -luser32 -lgdi32 -lwinmm -limm32 -lole32 -loleaut32 -lshell32 -lversion -luuid -lcomdlg32 -lhid -lsetupapi

WORKS, while with this command

FAILS?

I have just changed

- ../../sdl2-fortran/lib/libsdl2-fortran.a
+ -L ../../sdl2-fortran/lib -lsdl2fortran

- ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/lib/libsdl2_gfx-fortran.a
+ -L ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/lib -lsdl2_gfxfortran

but after the change it seems that ld does not find the SDL2 libraries.. because fails with a lot of

Should not -L add those paths to the PATH for searching libraries lib*?

Just a guess: Is this because of the - in the library name?

I renamed libsdl2-fortran.a into libsdl2fortran.a etc, but same result...

I renamed them also into libfoo.a and libbar.a with the same failure..

Does it help if you move the -static flag to before the first of those two libraries?

I tried also that and tried removing -static but same failure.

I was not able to reproduce the issue with a STC. For example, I did this:

$ gfortran foo_m.f90 -c  
$ ar rcs libfoo.a foo_m.o
                       
$ gfortran bar_m.f90 -c  
$ ar rcs libbar.a bar_m.o

$ cat foo_m.f90
module foo_m
  implicit none

  integer :: i = -1
end module foo_m

$ cat bar_m.f90
module bar_m
  implicit none

  integer :: j = -2
end module bar_m

$ cat test_foobar.f90
program test_foobar
  use :: foo_m
  use :: bar_m
  implicit none

then

$ mv libfoo.a ../../sdl2-fortran/lib/
$ mv foo_m.mod ../../sdl2-fortran/modules/

$ mv libbar.a ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/lib
$ mv bar_m.mod ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/modules

$ gfortran -I ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/modules -I ../../sdl2-fortran/modules -J ../../modules test_foobar.f90 -o test_foobar.out ../../sdl2-fortran/lib/libfoo.a ../../sdl2_gfx-fortran/lib/libbar.a

IT BUILDS

but also this builds:
