This may not work if we cant search for hyperlinks... however, we may want to do it anyway and take the hit for building an in-memory data mapping.

OK, so a major change would need to happen in how we find work items. Would need to load the target work items and build a table of reflextedURL, tid so that we can lookup target items. We still need to load the target item as we need to check stuff but it would reduce the searches...

What about adding the ReflectedWorkItemID as a tag instead? Searchable and easy to manage? I would rather not customize the process nor adding a hyperlink to either environment (source/target workitem). :)

This would clutter up tags for folks that use them. However that might enable us to use hyperlink more effectively.

Well, perhaps an optional batch cleaning of ReflectedWorkItemID-tags after final migration would solve that clutter? Easier to add and remove tags from all workitem types than adding a custom field to all affected types. Is it possible to filter and remove all hyperlinks from workitems as easily as tags? :)

We could:

1. Tag the migrated work item with Migrated: dev.azure.com/nkdagility/ProjectA - this would mean that there would only be a small number of tags that referenced the source.
2. Add a Link of https://dev.azure.com/nkdagility/ProjectA/workItem/34563
