Migration tool fails for Test Plans with the same name.

I need to migrate test plans and the tool fails with an error if two test plans with the same name exists. I can share a stack trace if needed. I think the approach should be different and check for the Reflected Work Item Id to see if the test plan is already migrated.

Yup. Unfortunately, there is no other identified way, Test Plans and Suits do not work like work items. I recommend changing the names of the Test Plans in the source to be unique.

I understand how it's done today. But it's a work item, so you could use the same approach as for normal work items with the reflected work item id. Find the test plan with the original id in the target project, get the new work item id and open use it.

You are welcome to try for yourself.

However Test Plans and Suits are not created as work items, and thus we cant add work item type data. The Work Item that has the same name as the Test Plan is created as a consequence of creating the Plan...after. 🤷‍♂️

Since we can't add ReflectedWorkItem lId on creation we need another way to find and return the resultant work item.

This we use title.
