opening books are not part of SF, this is left to the GUI, or other tools that use SF. |

Some GUIs can use only one book for all engines or not offer to set book options.
I suggest that Stockfish will use own opening book beside of GUIs, like some other engines.
Also interesting is have own book options, for example to play book moves only with !! and ! marks.
