Prebuild OPNsense package? #2
Comments
It'd be just amazing to have one. @fichtner any ideas? |
Probably not until it is actually working, see #1. |
Ah got it well I'm gonna purchase then an external modem with LAN connectivity or simply start using a RouterOS instead lol |
This source code was given a home, but it was so far not picked up by FreeBSD and also not properly ported to FreeBSD 13.1 what is being used in OPNsense 13.1. |
@fichtner thanks for your reply. Do you think there is a chance that it'll be ported to 13.1 in the near future? |
The upstream ticket is here https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=263783 but it doesn't look like it's being worked on. The user open sourced the code itself, but apparently not help with inclusion in FreeBSD. As core team we have other priorities and kernel drivers are not our main area of work. |
try also to install it on my opnsense. But root@OPNsense:/tmp/1/umb-freebsd-1.0.0/plugin/umb/work/pkg # pkg add os-umb-devel-1.20.6.12_1.pkg |
Where do i build this? I tried a CentOS stream 9 vm, a FreeBSD vm and a OPNSense vm but all of them i get errors when using the make command.. is there a clear guide for this package? |
There are people working on FreeBSD inclusion at the moment. The code is a bit dated by now. |
There seems to be several patches indeed in the upstream FreeBSD ticket by Pierre Pronchery. That seems promising. |
Hello, would it be possible to get a prebuild OPNsense package in the GitHub Release section?
