They are more secure than other 2FA mechanisms besides other FIDO2 solutions (like a Yubikey). The main problem with Passkeys is there isn't really a vendor-neutral solution, you're kinda stuck with Google's ecosystem on Android and Apple's iCloud Keychain ecosystem on iOS. In the future Passkeys will likely be supported by standard password managers, and it might be worth waiting for that. In the meantime, decide whether you're okay with that vendor lock-in. |
