Description of the Bug

In Multiplayer, will test in SP also.
Tunnel bore with Gravel, Fuel, Diamond Head, and track seems to stop while underground. The mining head spins incrementally every so often, but essentially the whole thing seems to be stuck.
Placed the setup on the surface and it went forward without issue, mining grass, flowers, and other decoratives, etc. Placed ballast without issue, but underground it seems to struggle to mine after the first couple of blocks.

Railcraft Reborn version

1.2.2

NeoForge/Forge version

21.1.61

Minecraft version

1.21.1

Minecraft server

Yes

To Reproduce

Mine a starting tunnel, at least 5 x 4 to give space for the bore, and say 30 blocks in length (for a run-up to the rock face).
Place track along the centre of the tunnel, then place the bore at one end facing the opposite end.
Add Fuel, Ballast, Track, and a Diamond Head to the Bore.
(Optional) Add a chest cart to the back and link with a Crowbar.

Bore moves up to the rock face, placing track/ballast when needed, then mines 1 - 5 blocks, and then the head stops spinning and it seems stuck.

Expected behavior

The bore should mine into the rock, placing track and ballast as it goes.

Do you also have the FTB Chunk in your modpack?

I wanted to add my findings here as well, We're running railcraft reborn on our ATM10 server, the tunnel bore seems to have issues mining diorite and granite. As Jamesm-98 mentioned, the bore seems to spin every so often, but ultimately makes no progress on these blocks. We've tried every bore head. We do have FTB Chunks in our mod pack

I have placed the tunnel bore, but I don't see any problem, even with diorite and andensite. If you can make me a video or a photo where it gets stuck it would be better.

I am running one in the Nether and have found it gets stuck on blackstone. Could it have to do with the "hardness" of whatever it is running into? Occasionally if I interact with the fuel or the drill head it can cause it to lock up too. I have to break and replace usually if it's the latter issue. Also might somehow be responding to things like lava and water drip? Seemed to stop even if the tunnel was already clear if there were falling lava particles in the way.

We've encountered this issue on ATM 10 as well. I noticed it couldn't mine raw redstone blocks at all, even if there was just one on the rock face the bore was against the bug would be triggered. Removing the raw redstone blocks would allow it to continue again. Curiously, when the bug is triggered no fuel is consumed, in the interface the flames for the fuel gauge are entirely static. It's as if the bore is frozen entirely. Removing and adding the fuel back will usually trigger the bore head to move one animation step forward, like what happens occasionally when left alone as previous reports mentioned.

So far we've only noticed the issue with raw redstone blocks, but it's only gone about twenty blocks in right now cause of course we started it in a redstone cave with tons of those things around
