RWTS-PDFwiter is a printer driver for OSX which lets you create PDF files by simply printing. It requires OSX 10.9 or later, and is compatible with OSX 10.11 (El Capitan).
The installer automatically configures the printer driver, so you can begin to use it immediately after you have installed it. Just choose PDFwriter as your “printer”. PDFwriter simply captures the pdf file that your machine would normally send to a “real” printer, and instead, saves it as a file.
The files are saved in /Users/Shared/<Your username>. (Unfortunately, this location cannot be altered as Apple has strict sandbox restrictions that prevent printer drivers from writing to User's home directories and most other file system locations.) However, you can make an alias to this folder in any convenient place of you choice, or you can drag this folder into the right hand edge of your dock to provide quick, permanent access to this location.
