Describe the bug
I have Maestral set to launch on startup. When I reboot and login, Maestral runs and creates two identical menu bar icons. If I close one, the other disappears as well. If I then restart the app manually, only one menu bar icon is created.

To Reproduce
See above. Set Maestral to run at startup. Reboot. Login. Observe two menu bar icons.

Expected behaviour
I expect that running the app, no matter how it is run, to only create one menu bar icon.

System:

  • Maestral version: 1.9.4
  • Python version: 3.9.6
  • OS: [e.g. Ubuntu] MacOS 15.1.1 on ARM/M1
  • Desktop environment: [e.g. Gnome 3.32] MacOS
  • PyQt version (for Linux GUI):

Additional context

Just got to add that I love the app - it otherwise is great on my Mac
