I've been brainstorming an idea that I believe could be really beneficial, but I must admit it's beyond my current capacity to execute alone. The concept revolves around shadcn, a project that I deeply appreciate for its open and free contributions to our community.
Here's the idea:
Component Example Rewrite: Transform the existing examples into more modular component examples. This would make it easier for developers to understand and use these components in various contexts.
Global Example Application: Develop a comprehensive application that demonstrates the real-world use of all these components. This would serve as a practical guide, showcasing how each component from shadcn can be utilized effectively.
Refer to SaaS UI for inspiration.
The current shadcn toolkit offers basic components like buttons and dropdowns. However, we could greatly benefit from more complex building blocks such as sidebars and headings.
Additional Proposal - Template Library: Inspired by Tailwind UI Pro, a community-driven template library could be immensely valuable. This platform would allow users to share, upload, and collaborate on component designs and implementations.
I believe these enhancements could significantly elevate the shadcn project. While I can envision myself spearheading this, the scale of the project suggests a commercial approach, which doesn't align with the ethos of shadcn and its author's generous contributions.
I'm eager to hear your thoughts and see if there's interest in collaborating on this initiative.
anyone feels up to this task and willing to contribute “real world components build from shadcn primary components.
would love to hear what shadcn author thinks of this.
I think in a worldwide effort community effort we could get results very soon and get a most usefull addition towards saas ui interfaces in general!
