Addressed Cases

This page lists cases that have previously fit into the scope but were addressed at some stage.

  • n8n - Advertised as open source under multiple source-available licenses
  • Uptrace - Advertised as open source under the BUSL license

Addressed on Notification

The below list are projects that were addressed upon, or soon after, communication with the project to highlight the potential confusion. These typically wouldn't meet the third scope criteria (purposefully continue confusion after being advised) but they are listed here to highlight positive responses.

  • Codecov - Advertised as open source under the BUSL 1.1 license
  • Dub - Misrepresented the requirements of the AGPL
  • Easy Redmine - Mis-advertised as "100% open source"
  • Helicone - Advertised as open source under the commons clause
  • Metabase - Mis-communicated the copyleft nature of the AGPL
  • Swiftwave - Advertised as open source with added non-open terms to the Apache 2.0 license
