We need to clarify the intent of our shared resources.
The intent of UAB RC shared resources is to serve the collaborative research computing and data needs of UAB research organizations. The term "project" is often used in reference to these shared resources, e.g. /data/project storage spaces. Despite the use of "project" in their name, shared resources are allocated on a per-organization basis, rather than on a per-project or per-person basis.
At this time, research organizations include the following.
Labs run by a Professor-level supervisor.
Research Cores (e.g., funded by part of an NIH P30 grant) with a Director-level supervisor.
Other "Shared Resource" organizations that function like Cores with a Director-level supervisor.
