MSI PC Mate Z97 bricked

I've successfully mod BIOS with uefipatch and MmTool with a rtx 3050 8gb and all worked correcrly for few days. Today I reset bios to re-arrange some OC option and BAM! No more boot or bios access. When power on i see a blinkin cursor on upper left of the screen.

I tried to put off everything and start with one stick of ram, without sata or usb devices, with and without gpu, to pull out battery, to clear cmos with pin with no luck. Any suggestion? Can be eventually usefull a test with an other gpu or cpu?

While not specific to ReBarUEFI, this sounds a lot like what happened to me on my MSI B350 PC MATE

I had to reflash the BIOS using a CH341A (using the alligator clip thing). It wasn't super easy, but I eventually got it

The trickiest part was the BIOS chip on my B350 board wasn't the typical 3ish volts, but 1.8, so I had to use a LED like in this guide:

But double-check the BIOS chip on your motherboard first. It looks like my Z270 board uses the older 3ish volts, so you might be OK

Do you have access to a CH341A? It sounds like you should reflash the latest MSI BIOS, then try reflashing the modified one you created

I thank you for reply. I didnt know the existance of CH241A. Surely is a good thing for the future. In meantime i resolved. I swap gpu from main 16x pcie slot and secondary one, and after an other reset with pin, finally regained access to bios.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Interesting approach, but you were able to access the BIOS again which is the main goal anyway

Yes, having a CH341A on-hand is nice as a last resort. You can pick them up for cheap on AliExpress
