Image viewer made in linux redesigned to windows 10/11 in python
KittyPhotos is an application originally designed for Linux to view images, but has been adapted for Windows 10/11 systems. Its user interface (UI) is more common in Linux, which facilitates the experience for those accustomed to that environment, allowing to view and manage images efficiently.
To install KittyPhotos, just follow these simple steps:
- Make sure you have Python 3.7 or higher installed on your Windows system.
- Download the installation file from our official website or repository.
- Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Once installed, you can open KittyPhotos directly from the Windows Start menu.
Once installed, you can start using KittyPhotos by following these easy steps:
- Open the KittyPhotos application.
- Click "Open Folder" and select the folder containing your images.
- Use the arrow keys or on-screen buttons to navigate through the images in the selected folder.
- You can zoom in or out on the images using the "Zoom In" or "Zoom Out" buttons, or by using the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
- To rotate an image, use the "Rotate" button in the controls.
KittyPhotos supports the following image formats:
- JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg)
- PNG (.png)
- GIF (.gif) - Includes support for animated GIFs.
- BMP (.bmp)
- TIFF (.tiff)
- WEBP (.webp)
- ICO (.ico)
- HEIC (.heic)
- HEIF (.heif)
- To open an image, click the "Open Image" button and select the image you want to edit.
- Once the image is loaded, you’ll have access to various tools to edit it as needed:
- Basic Edits: Use the "Undo" and "Redo" buttons to undo or redo changes, "Grayscale" to apply a grayscale filter, "Blur" to add a blur effect, and "Rotate" to rotate the image.
- Crop Tool: Use the "Start Crop" and "Apply Crop" buttons to select and apply a crop to the image.
- Drawing Tools: Use "Brush" for freehand drawing, "Shapes" to add shapes, and "Color" to customize the colors of your drawings.
- When you’re done editing, save your work by clicking "Save Image".

Currently, KittyPhotos is designed specifically for Windows systems.

At the moment, KittyPhotos is primarily an image viewer. Editing features such as cropping or color adjustments are on our roadmap for future versions.
How can I view animated GIF images?
Simply open a GIF image, and the application will automatically display the animation.
