The program is written to simplify typing ancient greek on standard keyboards. Without this program you have to go to a site, enter what you want to type, copy it, and paste it where you were typing. Thats not very neat.
- Download the installer here
- Open the file.
If windows defender says "Your pc is being protected" click more info > run anyways. Windows defender says this because we didnt buy a 300$ license for a free program.
- A terminal will display the progress
If nothing happens you must right click the file and click on "Unblock" as you see below.
If that does not fix it you can try the beta and the fix above. - A window says TypeGreek windows has been installed. You can use the program now by clicking on the desktop shortcut, or search for it at the start menu.
If you have installed the program, It has been placed in your start menu and your desktop shortcuts.
For further info, you can use the wiki.
On the wiki is information about the keybinds, diacritics and setting custom diacritics.
NOTE: only compile if the program does not work otherwise, or if you like compiling software.
- Download and install autohotkey.
- Download the latest source code.zip at releases.
- Extract the zip.
- Open autohotkey and select the extracted typegreek_EN.ahk as source.
- Click convert. Autohotkey will say that the script compiled succesfully.
- Go to the position of the typegreek_EN.ahk file.
- (Double)click the typegreek_EN.exe file.
- The window will popup now. Click "OK" to close the GUI and start typing greek. Instructions are on the screen, but for more detailed info, You can check the wiki. If that GUI does not open a window, create a bug report here
