Godot is a feature-packed, cross-platform game engine to creates 2D and 3D games from a unified interface. It provides a comprehensive set of common tools so that users can focus on making games without having to reinvent the wheel. Games can be exported with one click to several platforms, including the major desktop platforms (Linux, macOS, Windows), mobile platforms (Android, iOS), as well as Web-based platforms and consoles.

👍🏼 What I like

  • Active Development: The repository has an active community of developers, many stars, forks and pull requests.

  • Issues & Organization: There are around 10k active issues and more than 50k closed ones on the repository. I think one can learn a lot about maintaining a repository of such scale by inspecting their repo. Their issues are clean and the labels are well organized.

👎🏼 What I dislike

  • Wiki: While it's understandable that the GitHub wiki section may not be suitable for a project of this size, unfortunately, the project doesn't have a wiki page. As a result, we are unable to draw inspiration from it.
