Our goal is to stage development such that we can start new games every time we reach a major milestone. Each milestone is codenamed after one of the Gods or Titans of greek mythology, starting with Atlas, the game that is already finished.
This game is all about exploring the status quo. It has almost no modifications to the original.
- The map is a hex grid with 6 cardinal directions.
- Wrap-around game world with several continents, ca. 3 regions per player
- removed the TEACH command
- removed the FIND command
- All factions start in their own coordinate system at (0,0)
- improved password security
- New report format: JSON
- Smaller regions with fewer peasants and resources.
- Factions start with less money and more people, in a number of shared starting cities.
- Only two types of ship, longboat for exploration and small trade, clipper for troops and big shipments.
- Improved map generator that makes all factions reachable from each other.
- Basic support for ALH as a frontend.
- Modified coordinate system and new direction names.
- Ships can SAIL more than one hex.
- Units can move across multiple hexes with ships and horses.
- Units that GUARD will automatically attack non-allied units when they enter the region.
- Different terrains have different movement cost.
