🐛 Fix effect selection and scrolling behavior

Improve effect selection and dropdown behavior:

- Move scrolling and highlighting to requestAnimationFrame
- Implement async effect selection
- Add logging for better debugging
- Remove unused import

This change ensures smoother UI updates and more reliable
effect selection.
