A tiny number of humans have access to &ldquo;fast&rdquo; communication technologies (e.g., messenger pigeon).</p><p>100 y.a. - Letters can be exchanged around the world, telephone networks are starting to become widespread.</p><p>10 y.a. - Talk to anyone in the world at anytime via telephone, email, SMS. First instances of shared online spaces (e.g., multiplayer videogames).</p><p>Now - Hundreds of commodity instantaneous communication options, allowing us to work, trade, summon a car, book a hotel. Some people start to live their lives entirely online.</p><hr><h1 id=where-and-when-are-we-now-3>Where and When are we now?</h1><h2 id=enterprise-and-business>Enterprise and Business</h2><p>1000 y.a. - Most people inherit their parent&rsquo;s skills and social status.
A tiny number of humans can finance business ventures, like conquer a territory, build a cathedral, or estabilish a trade route.</p><p>100 y.a. - Banks finance small and large ventures through loans.
