The Darkest Depths was the first major update, as well as the first update to introduce a brand new planet type: Boiling Ocean (renamed to Boiling in the later versions). Just like the vanilla Oceanic planets, Boiling planets featured two primary biomes with their own unique mincrodungeons. Additionally, there was a 50/50 chance to find either a Sponge or an Underwater Minefield mini-biome below the surface.
This update also introduced new codex entries, furniture, and dungeon segments. The collection menus were updated to include the new monsters and action figures added by the mod.
From the Ashes was the second major update. Just like its predecessor, this update was focused on adding new environments as well as enhancing the existing ones. The first notable location introduced by this version was the Ashy planet. It spawned around temperate stars and became the most likely place to find Glitch Devout Towers. There were also plans to introduce two mini-biomes unique to this planet type but they had to be delayed til the 1.3.0 update.
Moreover, this update enhanced the previously added Boiling planets: they received multiple new fish types that can be caught using a Fishing Rod, and a neutral Sea Trench dungeon that acts as a natural feature and the only source of Exotic Starfish. Meanwhile, the vanilla Scorched planets received its second mini-biome, the Ship Graveyard, that could spawn instead of the Polluted mini-biome.
Other features include new furniture sets, food types, and enhanced Dimensional Compressor functionality.
Stellar Mysteries was an update that significally expanded the Relic Seeker faction by giving them the ST Syllectis, a hub location similar to the Outpost. This location housed three named NPCs, each with a corresponding questline covering different aspects of the mod: Libra Eclipse (collecting rare, dungeon-specific objects), Colt (searching for clues about Ri'shaan's true nature), and Jade the Vault Raider (exploring the Ancient Vaults). There were also two vendor NPCs: Starklance the Star Cartographer and the Crate Unpacker.
Another prominent feature of this release was new environments. Ashy planets finally received two mini-biomes, Amber and Forgotten Mountains, complete with furniture sets, monsters and items. In the meantime, Boiling planets gained two alternate orbital biomes: a Kessler Field and a Shattered Shield.
Further changes include the Dimensional Compressor UI overhaul, built-in mod support and multiple minor fixes.
Stars and Waves is the latest and currently the largest update. It expanded Boiling planets even further by adding a unique Sunken Citadel dungeon and two alternate cave biomes: the Rotten Sanctum and the Cryonic Vents. The dungeon included rooms with guaranteed Eldritch Ruler Statues in them, making Libra's quest easier to complete. Meanwhile the cave biomes came with new blocks, microdungeons and monsters; the Rotten Sanctum in particular featured treasure chests with codex entries needed for Colt's questline.
Starting with this update, there was a small chance to encounter Chthonian moons orbiting fiery stars. They acted as significantly harder versions of regular Lunar worlds with stronger gravity, denser blocks, and more resources other than Erchius Fuel. Hostile creatures such as Erchius Spooks and scattered groups of Shapeless Dwellers made Chthonian moon exploration ever riskier but also offered more loot.
Furthermore, this update provided continuation to some of the existing Relic Seeker questlines: Libra started offering a one-time mission once the player completed her relic search quests, and Jade could open a way to the Infinity Maze, a never-ending gauntlet of challenge rooms. Finally, there were many smaller changes and additions for dungeons and mini-biomes, minor fixes, and fully functional Enhanced Storage support.
The unnamed 1.5 update is an upcoming major update built around space exploration. It will feature a number of new space encounters, mech parts and mech-specific challenges.
