Translation RescueMe into a new language

Translating RescueMe into a new language is a big job. There are hundred of words and sentences in the source code. Since RescueMe is divided into locale domains, a translation could be done one interface or domain at the time. RescueMe consists of an admin and a trace interface. The table below describes which domains belongs to which interface. Use this table as a guide when choosing domains to translate.

###Prerequisites

Ensure that you have PHP, php gettext extension and PoEdit installed on you machine.

Define a new language

  • Create the folder locale/<language>/LC_MESSAGES

where <language> is on the LCID format.

Translate an language

  • Select which interface(s) to translate

Translate an interface

  • Select which domain(s) to translate using the table above
  • [Create a new PO-file for each domain](Create PO files using PoEdit)*
  • [Translate each domain using PoEdit](Update PO files using PoEdit)

*) Tip: copy an old PO-file and just change the Language field.
