Tetrode Making

Each tetrode is constructed from 40 cm long pieces of insulated 20 micron nickel-chromium wire

1. Cut wire length to 40 cm
2. Fold wire twice, once completely and the second time at just the end, leaving a loop at the other end
3. Clip folded end of tetrode into tetrode twister, pulling the loop around the stable bar positioned above the twister
4. Set and run tetrode twister with 80 clockwise rotations, followed by 30 counterclockwise rotations
5. Apply heat from heat gun at low setting, holding gun about 10-15 cm from the tetrode, applying heat to 3 sides for about 5 second each
6. Cut tetrode at the base by the twister, remove from the bar, and cut the loop while pulling up with the scissors to ensure even single wire extrusions from the end of the tetrode bundle
